Morning goodies at Sweet Pea: Bigger batches, smaller prices.

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

It’s been three weeks since we’ve opened at our new location. It has been a blast so far, and it feels

like we’re starting to find our groove; around the new kitchen and the new neighborhood.

Now that our routines are established we are ramping up production of our morning goodies, including fresh-baked muffins, scones and cinnamon rolls. To you, dear reader this means two things. First is that there will be more goodies available at 7am from Monday to Saturday, with daily and weekly specials. Second is that we’ve lowered the prices on bulk orders of a half dozen or more. Now you can order or pick up any combination of six muffins, scones and cinnamon rolls for $12.50, or a baker’s dozen for just $22.00. Choose from the day’s selection or call ahead 48 hours to order from the full menu.

We’ll be baking up this week, and occasionally as a special, but you can always order ahead in quantities of a dozen or more. Just give us 48 hours notice and we’ll bake some fresh when you need them. Call us at 586-8200 to order some today!

A new treat from the Sweet Pea ovens: Hearty Granola

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Early spring is a slower time of year in Bozeman. The mountain is closed, the park isn’t quite open, and everywhere you want to be is just a little bit muddy. Here at Sweet Pea Bakery that only means we have a little extra time to work on new recipes! So when some of our corporate customers started asking about granola for their meetings and employee breakfasts, we got right to work.

In fact, Carrie has already been making granola for us to enjoy at home, so it was just a matter of finding the right ingredients and making enough to share. We think you’ll like the results as much as we did, so as of today, our Hearty Granola will be available at 19 S Willson in Bozeman (next to the cookies), and for special order by the pound.

So why granola? Well, in addition to it being in demand at gatherings, we have been on the lookout for healthier recipes to feed ourselves and our little girl. Sweet Pea Bakery’s granola is made with the same care and quality ingredients as our specialty desserts. We bake it in small batches when you order with locally produced oats, and nuts from our neighbors at Montana Harvest natural market. We sweeten it with honey and a little brown sugar, lightly spice it and bake it to perfection with no added salt, or cheap fillers like peanuts.

We have a couple great granola recipes that will be in regular rotation at our dessert counter, and if you order ahead we can add your favorite flavors to the mix. Call (406) 586-8200 to order yours today. Hearty Granola is $8 per pound (5 servings) for current flavors, or $10 a pound for custom flavors. (Please give us 48 hours notice for any custom order!)
